Story-first design for a statewide mission

Good intentions, clunky experience

When the Autism Society of North Carolina needed a brand refresh that could match the heart behind their mission, we reimagined everything—from the website to the way they told their story.

The Autism Society of North Carolina had a powerful mission—but a website and brand presence that didn’t match. Their site was outdated, hard to navigate, and failed to reflect the vibrant community they serve. Internally, their marketing team needed a more flexible system for managing content and a brand that could stretch across platforms—digitally and in print.

  • Website

A refreshed logo and visual system that balances retro charm with modernist clarity.

  • Awareness

A self-managed digital platform designed for autonomy, traffic growth, and effortless promotion.

  • Social

High-impact apparel and accessories that convert customers into walking brand ambassadors.

The Website

Rebuilt from the ground up

Working closely with the ASNC team, I led the website redesign and rebuild from the ground up. We focused on:

  • User experience: Clearer navigation for families, caregivers, and professionals looking for services.

  • Accessible design: Meeting ADA standards while keeping the interface inviting and human.

  • Flexible CMS: Giving their internal team the power to update content without breaking design.

To elevate the brand, we created the “Life with autism” campaign—a deeply personal and modular approach that allowed individuals to share their own experiences living with autism. Whether it was “Life with Joy,” “Life with Challenges,” or “Life with Hope,” the campaign highlighted the real stories behind the diagnosis.

Awareness Campaign

We’re Talkin’ Baseball

We supported the launch with a promotional video that stitched these themes together. It served as a rallying cry for awareness, understanding, and action—while showcasing the many ways ASNC supports the autism community every day.

Social Media

Results that Resonate

The redesigned site gave ASNC a digital presence that matched the heart and scale of their work.

Early results included:

  • A significant drop in bounce rate (down 34%)

  • Increased engagement from first-time visitors

  • Streamlined internal workflows for content updates and fundraising initiatives

The “Life with autism” campaign is still being used across email, social, print, and events—proof that when storytelling meets strategy, the results stick.
